Laura has been delighting audiences from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds with her engaging and professional performances for fifteen years. You can rest assured that your event will be a hit as Laura will work with you to create just the kind of show you're looking for!


Packages and Rates

All prices are standard minimum for downtown Halifax. Rates depend on date, location, frequency, and any special circumstances. For New Year's Eve, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day the price is double. Standard show length is 5-15 minutes, if you would like a longer performance, Laura suggests two separate sets to work within your guests' attention span.

The Classic Show
A timeless crowd-pleaser at every occasion. Popular at weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and more. Completely customizable to your event, this exciting show typically includes a sweeping and elegant veil entrance number, upbeat dancing, audience participation and a climactic drum solo. Laura specializes in classic Egyptian style bellydance, so you're in for a treat!

1 set: $200
2 sets (up to 1 hour apart): $300
3 sets (up to 1 hour apart): $375


The Restaurant/Nightclub
Looking to stand out from the crowd and really wow your guests? Restaurants and nightclubs offering multiple bookings of at least 4 shows get a special rate! This exciting show includes all the elements of The Classic performance, including pulling up guests to show off for their friends. Let Laura work with you to match her music, dance style, and costuming to your unique establishment to create the perfect atmosphere. Laura can also arrange different dancers each week if it's variety you're after.

One 20-min set or two 10-min sets (within 1 hour): $125
3 sets (within 2 hours): $250

Spectacular Wedding Performance

Solo, Duet or Group Bellydance
Bellydance is a traditional part of Arabic weddings, and is said to bring good luck, abundance and prosperity to the happy couple. If you like, this joyful show includes getting the bride, groom and guests up to dance! 

This is your day, so please let us know any requests for costuming, props, music selection, etc. Can be performed as a solo, or with two or more dancers for an opulent extravaganza! Let us wow you with dramatic props like shamadan (candelabra) veils, swords, and more!  Or, keep it simple and let the beauty of Arabic dance shine on it's own.

Zeffah Wedding Procession 
Historically the Zeffah was a traditional wedding procession where the bellydancer led the bride and groom through the streets, bringing them luck and fertility. Today the dancer leads the couple (and often the whole wedding party) dramatically into the reception hall, playing finger cymbals and wearing a sparkling Shamadan (candelabra) on her head.

Duet Bellydance Performance 
Classic or Fusion style
with Cabaret Serpentine
Laura Selenzi and Monique Ryan are Cabaret Serpentine, a dynamic and hypnotic duo showcasing the traditional roots as well as the evolving modern potential of bellydance. Both professional bellydancers, Cabaret Serpentine has been entertaining audiences in Halifax and across Canada for as well as producing their own full scale sold-out shows. Let us wow you with a duet performance using a dynamic mix of solo's and duet numbers.

Aside from classic bellydance, Laura and Monique can also offer Bollywood Indian fusion style dancing, and various specialty props such as Isis wings (pictured), swords, hand candles, and shamadan (traditional Egyptian candelabra headpiece). Ask us for details!
